Over the past year, I’ve been working on my MBA thesis with this guy and this guy. After starting with a vast topic related to the rise of the freelance economy, we narrowed our focus down to what businesses can do to hire technical people internally when the conditions are right, despite businesses creating the freelance market in the first place by farming out projects.

We conducted a dozen interviews with people ranging from freelance developers to the founders of consultancies that count over a hundred employees. We also talked to digital managers in the public sector, the private sector, consultants in agencies and consultants with their own agencies, and positioned our argument around the specific business case at Disneyland Paris.

In order to figure out the most pertinent and helpful recommendations for Disney, we conducted a survey over the course of two months in order to determine the primary motivations for freelancers and how they feel about working in a company. The survey was focused on the French market specifically so the questions and answers are in French which I translated into English. Donc pas de soucis pour les françaises!

Voici les résultats bruts de notre sondage, dans quelques semaines, lors de notre soutenance de thèse, je vais publier une analyse plus poussée.
